About UEL McCracken's of Early Canada
This is a work in progress....started by my late father Hubert Samuel McCracken, after retirement and before he died in 1970. The information is from the family Bible, relatives, many very generous people, many by email...too many to list here...Films from Inter Library loan, Public Archives and the LDS Family History Centre. I believe I have found the birth place of Hugh McCracken my gg-grandfather at Kingston Canada,(But not proven) if so his father was Archibald, who was a Gunner in the Royal Artillery, and died in Quebec, Canada 1796. Hugh was in the 2nd flank, 1st Dundas Militia, in the War of 1812- 1813. (Soldiers of the King by Gray). He received a land grant of 100 acres for this service. His wife was Elizabeth Stata dau. of Philip Stata, UEL & soldier in the KRRNY. My mothers grand-parents were: John Esson Wilson from Lanark, Scotland & George Harbourne from Co. Wicklow, Ireland. I am a 5th generation Canadian and have 4 great- grandaughters. Some of this information has not been verified, however I do have sources for most. Any help in adding or correcting what we have here would be appreciated. ........................................................

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
